Jacobis Partners with Xurya to Install Solar Panels in Surabaya

PT Jadi Abadi Corak Biscuit (Jacobis) collaborates with PT Xurya Daya Indonesia (Xurya) to contribute to the environment by installing Rooftop Solar Power Plants (PLTS) at their factory. “We believe this initiative will inspire other companies and the general public to adopt clean technology in their daily lives,” stated Kataline Darmono, Managing Director of Jacobis, during the inauguration of the PLTS at the Jacobis Factory in Rungkut, Surabaya, on Thursday. PLTS Atap is a solar power generation system that utilizes solar energy to produce electricity. According to data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Indonesia has a solar rooftop energy potential of 32.5 gigawatts, with a target of achieving 900 megawatts of energy utilization from rooftop solar by the end of 2023. As of June 2023, energy utilization from rooftop solar in Indonesia has reached 800 megawatts, requiring an additional 100 megawatts to meet the year-end target. Jacobis envisions not only providing quality products but also demonstrating a strong commitment to social and environmental responsibility. The installation of PLTS Atap marks a crucial first step in Jacobis’ journey toward larger and more innovative sustainability programs.
